A fire on December 24th, 2009 damaged the resort’s main complex which housed a restaurant, bar, kitchen, stores, boutique, offices and library. No one was injured during the fire. The resort did not specify the cause. The Yasawa Island Resort hopes to reopen by October 1st, 2010.

The Yasawa Island Resort was chosen for the Tripadvisor Top 10 Exotic Beach Destinations in 2008, was the Leading Spa Resort of the 2007 World Travel Awards, and was voted Conde Nast magazine’s Most Romantic Hideaway, South Pacific, Caribbean, Altantic 2006.

“We returned from our trip to Fiji early morning yesterday and I just had to write to say thank you for all of your help in coordinating it.  It was absolutely beautiful there and we had a wonderful time.  The weather was gorgeous and all of the activities were so much fun- we did a lot of snorkeling, kayaking, hiking and fishing (and laying by the pool!).  This is definitely the trip of a life time so I can’t say thanks enough for all you did to help get us there! (this is us in front our beachfront bure!)”
