Anzac Day: Saturday, April 25th
Anzac Day is a national public holiday in Australia and New Zealand. The day commemorates Australian and New Zealand troops who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I. Anzac stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. Symbolic of the dawn landing at Gallipoli, services for Anzac Day are typically held at dawn. SeeANZ will be attending a dawn service this year in Chicago at the Elks Veterans Memorial.
